ماژول اثر انگشت R308 شامل یک سنسور اثر انگشت نوری، پردازنده پرسرعت DSP، الگوریتم اثرانگشت با عملکرد بالا، تراشه فلش با حافظه بالا و ... می باشد و توانایی ذخیره سازی 125، 240 و 500 اثر انگشت را دارد. می توان از طریق ارتباط سریال UART با این ماژول ارتباط برقرار کرد، به این صورت که یا آن را به طور مستقیم به میکروکنترلر متصل کرد و یا اینکه توسط رابط MAX232 و یا مبدل USB به سریال به کامپیوتر متصل نمود.
