ماژول OV7670 یک ماژول دوربین با حساسیت بالا است. این ماژول برای عملکردی بالا با نور و ولتاژ کم برای کاربردهای مجتمع استفاده می شود. واسط ارتباطی این سیستم استاندارد SCCBسازگار با واسط I2C است. در این ماژول یک تراشه FIFO با سرعت بالا استفاده شده است که وظیفه آن خواندن کدهای دوربین و ذخیره در خود می باشد و تا ارسال دستور بعدی تصویر را در حافظه خود نگه می دارد. علت این انتخال این است که سرعت بالای این دوربین باعث شده تا میکروکنترلرهایی که دارای سرعت پایینی هستند قادر به دریافت تصویر کامل از دوربین نبوده و قبل از پایان خواندن کدهای رنگ تصویر تغییر کند. توسط این تراشه هر میکروکنترلری با هر سرعتی می تواند با این ماژول کار کرده و تصاویر کامل را دریافت نماید. از مشخصات اصلی این ماژول می توان به حداكثر ابعاد تصوير 640 در 480 پيكسل، قابليت تصوير برداري با 30 فريم بر ثانيه و ابعاد تصویر قابل تعریف در استاندار های مختلف ( vga , qvga ,...) اشاره کرد. این ماژول بخشهای مختلف برای پردازش اولیه روی تصویر شامل بخش پردازش میزان رنگ و کنتراست و غیره مي باشد. همچنين این قطعه توانايي تنظيم خودكار بهره AGC و تنظيم تراز سفيدي AWB را دارد. همچنین، در این ماژول نسبت سيگنال به نويز 46 دسيبل است.
