Microchip 's MCP2515 is a stand-alone controller area network (Controller Area Network, CAN) protocol controller , fully supports CAN V2.0B specifications. The device can send and receive standard and extended data and remote frames . MCP2515 comes with two acceptance masks and six acceptance filters can filter out unwanted messages , thus reducing the main microcontroller (MCU) overhead. MCP2515 with MCU is connected via an industry standard Serial Peripheral Interface (Searial Peripheral Interface, SPI) to achieve.
